I know what you are saying and you know I am not an expert but indefinitely means indefinitely.

Having said that I often wondered if indefinitely might mean until they change the rules and I have Mrs Lastlid in mind when I say that.

Lastlid is right mate. Indefinite does mean indefinte. The valid until bit just means you will have renew your BRP card around the time of that date, just like a driving license or passport.

There's no worry about expiry. ILR does not expire. Only that shiny new card expires just like a passport or driving licence expires and needs renewal. But you will surely have a British passport before that happens
