It's about damn time and at least something the current gov have done that the previous dicks couldn't do in 13 years..
Absolutely not about time, and it's not just labour who can be blamed, but governments going back literally decades.
Pity this can't be applied retrospectively, and kick out the ones who have in effect stolen houses by squatting in them for a number of years and now hold the leasehold.
In a way, it is a pity on the cases where someone might be homeless and breaks into a dilapidated property to seek shelter, and where this will further encourage those who buy up much needed homes and keep them empty and going to ruin, but this can be solved with other legislation.
I agree with this but I will add something else. This is just my opinion. Limit the amount of properties a landlord should own. There are properties owned by greedy landlords that are empty. More affordable homes are needed. Why not put pressure on landlords with empty properties? After all if your car is not taxed its taken away from you.

Yes, silly why people should automatically assume that teachers are pillars of the community.
When I was leaving school, it seemed to me that many of the ones who chose teacher training were what I would describe as 'mediocre' achievers or oddballs who could think of nothing else to do...but at least it would put off working for a living for a while.
Hardly surprising that that intake were amongst the ones who later contributed to the dumbing down of the education system.

You've got something about the reasons they signed up for teacher training, a mate of mine did it just to avoid the world of work, he then squeezed out some extra time by specialising in teaching the deaf. He was doing very nicely as a headmaster of a deaf & dumb school until 2 years ago when he was cleaned out and had his fat pension slashed by his now ex wife in a nasty divorce
I always have the Today programme on too, but just turn the sound down when certain regular items, like the pious religious people coming on to do their bit of daily propaganda...especially the muslim one.
Thanks to the olympics im not listening to talk bbc at the moment...im finding music radio namely Heart and Magic more lifting after a shift behind the wheel.
As for that disgraceful teacher, you've right Ded, it back fired on the bbc...she knew what she was getting into pay wise before she signed up for that vocation....honestly, it is like a woman marrying a man planning to change his ways on a later date...HELLO!....it dont work
....I read about that teacher the other day...great, she should go to jail....let her be the example to the rest of the lazy good for nothings.
