applying for work while waiting for ILR result

Now that my son start big school i can get a job at least a part time job while he is at school. But then I am aware the they would ask passport showing that you can legally work in UK. has anyone here experienced applying for a job while waiting for ILR result? I found few possible opportunity for me but i still haven't got my ILR result so its holding me back to apply. I wonder if i can use the confirmation letter instead.

You are already entitled to work.

If u arrived on a spouse visa, you've been able to work (legally) from the day you arrived.

If u arrived on a fiance visa, you've been able to work (legally) since the FLR was awarded.
