Much the same thing happened when MY wife recently obtained British Citizenship.Whilst her notification letter arrived on July 9, the actual date of approval was June 28 ... 11 days earlier.
God alone (apart from the Home Office authorities, that is!) knows why!
Anyhow, Leen ... I digress ... Congratulations & well done....my travel date that i put in my application was Aug.20 so we were hoping it will arrive b4 that date but anyway it doesn't matter now coz i got my visa
and i will be with my hubby soonest
