    manila visa enquiries response ..

Thank you for your email of 3 September concerning your wife’s visa refusal.

Please note that due to the Data Protection Act, we can only discuss personal details with individual visa applicants or their authorised representative. In the absence of a signed confirmation from the applicant that she is happy for you to act on her behalf, we are unable to discuss with you her visa refusal.

The applicant may send the authorisation letter in an email attachment to this mailbox so we may refer your concerns to the Entry Clearance Manager for consideration.

i cant understand why they cant discuss my visa application problem to my husband ...

Because they are up their own backside idiots, quoting the data protection act, which is a total joke anyway.

Of course your hubby has no rights...normally he's the one paying their bloody over-inflated visa fee and having to run around satisfying the ridiculous requirements as SPONSOR.

Send the required e-mail informing them of your agreement and authorisation to allow your husband to discuss all aspects of your application and visa refusal.

To be honest, I am not sure how far reaching the Data Protection act is, but he is your husband after all and I notice that whenever I have phoned a doctor or hospital on my wife's behalf, for example, that have never quoted the Data Protection act back at me and refused to discuss anything.

I guess this is a bit different, but your hubby is an integral part of the application. Seems such a daft response.

A point worth noting for all new applicants, is to submit a letter stating that the Husband/Partner is also to be contacted as a representative for all correspondence during the application process. It certainly cannot hurt to add this right at the beginning.

A similar right was signed by my wife to allow direct communication with the embassy by our Advisor, on matters regarding her Spouse visa application.

My fiance recieved same email after he sent an reconsideration and request for my app to be reviewed again. Anyway, They are going to send and communicate with the applicant and go from there. So, no worries on that I think.

My wife delivered hers with her visa application. In your case they say just email it as an attachment.

At this point I am just hoping that this was the only reason for Rhaichards refusal. To save me looking like a idiot.

You dont need to go to the embassy. You just need to wait for the ECM to contact you via email. Thats what happened to me.

Thanks Terpe just a week away now. Victoria says we should both feel positive about our appeal, I pray she's right.

Hello everyone, my wife has submitted her documents to VFS in Manila last friday.. we have applied for an EEA family permit using my Irish citizenship. The problem is I have a dual citizenship, both British and Irish. Im aware of the rule change from the 16th july this year, but I'm also aware there is a transitional period until the 16th October for British citizens using their EEA citizenship to apply for an EEA family permit. does anyone know any info on this, thanks.

It's not yet been fully tested Robert.
As you know, legally UKBA could refuse with no appeal.
But it seems they will continue to accept during the transitional period.

Hope yours is one of those that get through.
Please do keep us all informed.
Sorry that it's difficult to be more precise
