Hello everyone, my wife has submitted her documents to VFS in Manila last friday.. we have applied for an EEA family permit using my Irish citizenship. The problem is I have a dual citizenship, both British and Irish. Im aware of the rule change from the 16th july this year, but I'm also aware there is a transitional period until the 16th October for British citizens using their EEA citizenship to apply for an EEA family permit. does anyone know any info on this, thanks.

It's not yet been fully tested Robert.
As you know, legally UKBA could refuse with no appeal.
But it seems they will continue to accept during the transitional period.

Hope yours is one of those that get through.
Please do keep us all informed.
Sorry that it's difficult to be more precise

thanks so much Terpe, once again.. Its such a nervous time for us both.. i emailed VFS they told me current processing times are 5 to 15 working days, so if maria submitted her docs on the 31st of august they said it should be released by the 22nd september. Maria received an SMS yesterday from VFS saying that the application is now at the British High Commission and is being processed.. I will keep you all informed in how the application goes.. PS, i haven't been on here in a while but I'm glad to see how you's guys are still supporting people through what is a very difficult and emotional time and sharing your knowledge, appreciate it very much
