For those who want to complain directly you can visit http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/make-a-c...ow-to-complain

You will need a response from your complaint to the UKBA before proceeding.

Didn't you include your husband's original passport when you sent your application?

It's better to send the original passport as UKBA needs it.

, did he send a birth cert ?

Note 7 If your partner is a British citizen without a passport, you must provide his/her full birth certificate (showing
the parents’ names), accompanied by at least one other formal document as evidence of ordinary residence
in the UK for the last three years.

Did you not include bank statements in your application months ago? That's too much if you have provided them with those already.

I think it is a good thing we are filing all bank statements in case this slow moving UKBA decide to need more.

I do not think you would need a specific amount as you are under old rules.
UKBA,UKBA I am dreading to hear from you...

I've read a lot of the same stories from other sites wherein UKBA are asking for recent bank statements after months and months of waiting.

Yes, you're right. I've seen that too.
I'm pretty sure that legally they must evaluate the application as it stands.

If anyone feels vulnerable with current bank statements etc. then better to question that with UKBA directly.

I think it's still the policy of UKBA that caseworkers are instructed NOT to refuse FLR or ILR solely on financials

My application reached its 10th month on 27th January 2013 and still no news yet! My grandma died that same day and because I'm still waiting for my FLR(M) and all the documents to be released, I won't be able to go back to go to her funeral. I know MissAna and jlags got letters from UKBA for additional documents, how about the others? Has any of you heard anything at all???

Sorry for your loss rayna. It's been almost 7 months since we submitted our application but until now we haven't heard anything back from them.

We havent heard a thing either Rayna and our application was just a few weeks after yours, its nothing short of shameful how we are being treated.

Can't fathom how UKBA works at all. 'Leave to Remain' really OUGHT to be a straightforward formality ... yet, instead, it is turning out to be nothing short of a nightmare for so many.

well you can only blame the gov and the jobs cuts at UKBA, FLR and ILR used to take approximately 4wks for many years, people have now been waiting 10 months or more , and are forced to put their lives on hold

I've got a final response from UKBA about my complaint on 20th November 2012..As usual, THE USUAL CRAP RESPONSE!!! The good thing though, I've accumulated lots of letters from UKBA, our local MP and Independent Chief Inspector that I can use as proof of address on my next visa application! I will include all those letter and show UKBA how their service made my life miserable from all these waiting!!! Bunch of tossers!!!!!!

you've been waiting more than 10 months, how can you have a family life

I've just been looking at this story of your experience with UKBA Rayna, I'm lost for words other than it seems very unprofessional and I sincerely hope that it is resolved sooner rather than later because I can imagine what you must be going through, especially with your added problems at the moment. I will follow your story until the end, it's bad

Also, they can't even effin' get the correct date of when my application was received! They kept on saying they got it via post on 26th February 2012 when clearly it's not even possible as Keith and I got married 1st March 2012!!! Bunch of crap people really! Everytime I write to them or call them, I always tell my application was received on 27th March 2012 and yet they kept on getting it wrong in their letters! They can't even bother checking the right data! Such a simple data and can't even get it right!!! It's really doing my head in and I just want to punch all the people responding to my letters/complaints and everyone who run that crap border agency!!!!
