    Angry UKBA Inquiry Response

    Effin' UKBA!!!! I called and finally got through and then the woman on the line said they can only entertain my inquiry about my visa application status after 27th September as my application was received on 27th March!!! I spent 25 mins of waiting for someone to answer the call to be told by that!!!!!!!

    Not funny, not helpful, not nice ..... but they're correct.

    We will:
    decide 95% of postal applications within six months;

    So only after 6 mnths will they entertain calls about "what's happened to my FLR ... etc etc "
    No man is an island, but Barry is

    True enough. I posted my application on the 28th of August, and they got the money from my husband's debit card on the 30th ... real quick!

    It baffles me that it should take so long. There isn't much to it. They must have a pile of them stacked somewhere, over that time frame. Yes, they do state that it can take 6 months, but it is inexcusable whichever way one looks at it. Net processing time must surely be just a few hours at the most.

    If the only reason that it takes 6 months is because they have laid off staff then that is wrong. The fees are exhorbitant and as they are so high, that warrants hiring on more staff.

    Whoa! I didnt know that FLR processing could take 6 months! In the first place, UKBA has approved us to go here. Then, the huge fees. There's no good excuse for that loooong wait.

    My visa expires January 2013 and I'm getting married on December. That means, it would take me a year before I can try to look for a job.

    Hello rayna;

    Sorry to hear that you are still on the waiting list, I know how it feels as I waited for mine for over 21-weeks before I got the decision. I actually thought that you already got your FLR (M),

    But on a postive side - we only have weeks to count before 27th and you will finally get your visa. pray pray pray.
    cheers Han

    So does that mean you sent your application in 6 months too early.

    I called UKBA back today..and after waiting for so long for someone to answer, they told me that my application has not been processed yet. They can't say any timeline when my application would be looked at!!! I can't even do charity work because of this!!!! They expect me to just sit around and wait for I don't know how long!

    We have been waiting 5 1/2 months now for FLR, I could almost tolerate the wait if the service was free but they charge top dollar for such an appalling service so should hang their heads in shame.

However, it most CERTAINLY doesn't stop me from feeling genuine empathy with Rayna, Malcolm & Loida, Miss Ana and the many others currently awaiting their legal 'RIGHT' to Remain and/or Permanent Residence ... both of which are - or OUGHT to be - implicit, straightforward formalities ... leading on from the hard graft ... the "spadework" ... not to mention the HUGE expense ALREADY entailed ... in order to entitle them to join their partners here in the first place. Delays of 6 months and more to deal with what SHOULD be natural, follow-up extensions to the lawfully-wedded spouses of native Britons are totally unacceptable.

    Very eloquently put Arthur,all of us at some time or other go through this long winded scenario and it would put many a mind at rest if the process took a reasonable length of time taking into account the outrageous cost of doing the right thing rather than what so many do and flaunt the rules and even get away with it.
    I havent mentioned this before but Loida is 9 months pregnant and due to give birth any day soon so receipt of her FLR this coming week would be the icing on the cake for us and give us peace of mind until the final hurdle of ILR rears it very expensive head.
