    CRB Check

Hi everyone this is John and Maricris.
It has been a while since we have posted on the forum. Just to keep you informed Maricris is very well just complaining about the cold weather
I have not had a chance to get on the forum been very busy at work. Maricris is working as a volunteer in the local charity shop it keeps her mind busy.
We have a question if somone could answer, Maricris has been offered a chance to work in a local school, but has asked if she has ever had a CRB check, as far as we know she has not. How would Maricris go about having such a check as she has only been in the country two and a half month.

    Many thanks
    John and Maricris

Usually the emloyers sort that out. I suppose she would go through the same process as everyone else.

Same has happened to many folks here, including my wife also.
The (prospective) employer will organise everything and will pay. Maricris will just have to fill out the form. That's it.

Good luck to her, hope she will suceed and go from strength to strength.

She can apply by herself for personal use. I think it will cost more than £30. She can apply for it even though she's only 2 months here, Well not all employers will pay the CRB, with my last 2 jobs I was the one who paid for my CRB. Only the recent one my employer paid for it. Try to go to CRB Check website, I did download some separate sheet thru their website before.

The UK CRB check can only be obtained by a registered employer, and for work in schools would be an Enhanced one.

Disclosure Scotland however provides CRB checks from the same database for a fee but this is not valid in UK schools.

She can also obtain a police clearance from the Philippines fairly easily through a family member.

Thanks everyone for your help, we will have to see what happens at her interview at school, as regards obtaining a police clearance from the Philippines through a family member Maricris thinks it wont be possible as the clearance requires thumb print and a ID Pic. But she will talk to her family to find out if its possible..

Terpe is right, she don't need any police clearance, just fill-up the form carefully, and pay thats all. No hazzle, I had my CRB check 3 times and no requirements needed.

    Criminal Records Bureau
The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) helps employers in England and Wales make safer recruitment decisions. A number of roles, especially those involving children or vulnerable adults, are entitled to a criminal record check.

Our aim is to help protect children and vulnerable adults by providing a first-class service to support organisations recruiting people into positions of trust.

    Applicants

If you are an individual who has been asked to apply for a CRB check you can find information about the process and what you need to do on the Directgov website (Opens in a new window).

    Organisations

If you are an organisation who carries out CRB checks, or are considering registering with the CRB, our pages on Business Link (Opens in a new window)provide clear guidance on how to access our services and your role in the process.
