Our spousal visa has been GRANTED !

Yes Terpe, you were right about that email..

I couldn't quite believe it till we had it but my wife picked it up this morning so now i finally feel i can celebrate..!

With regard to all the tosh DHL had told us last week, my wife arrived this morning in Tacloban and they just asked for ID and then handed it over.. No questions at all, and no proof of the application number.

We now just have to get the CFO stamp and were good to go. Now there's a question, how long does it take to obtain an NSO copy of our marriage license ? We need to get one for the seminar...

Anyway, a massive thank you to all you kind and generous people on this forum for your help and advice, it is truly appreciated.

    This is our timeline...

First met, at a Jeepney stop in Cebu City on 08-03-2012
Dated daily until we got engaged on 04-04-2012
    Married on 22-06-2012
Spousal visa submitted to embassy 19-07-2012
    Deferred application 29-08-2012
    Visa Granted 11-09-2012

Short but sweet: When you meet the right one, you just know... I always thought that was a cheesy line but man, its true..

We then backed that up with an explanation of supporting documents to clear up any questions or holes we felt we had in the application... Explanation of bank withdrawals, documents we couldn't provide with reasons why ect. And of course our letters to the Entry Clearance Officer.

I also added this... From the UKBA website, the guide to supporting documents page concerning maintenance, regarding the bank letter. It requests that the bank letter should state " that there are enough funds present in the account to support a dependent partner and any dependent children ". Unfortunately my bank manager declined my request to do this and said that it is against their policy.

Yes. Seemed alarming at first, but worked out okay in the end.

Congratulations, its good to see that where you thought there would be any problems you backed it up with an explanation and supporting documents.

I thought one of the requirements for spouse visa was the NSO copy of marriage certificate, but in your documents you listed, it seems that you have supplied only a Cenomar?

Was it spouse or fiance visa you applied for?

    It was a spousal visa.

3-A.. We supplied the original marriage license which had been endorsed by the local registrar / Not the NSO copy. My wife has just been to the NSO Office in Tacloban and they have issued her with an NSO copy on the spot

    Hi Joe,

Yes, quick indeed. I think it helped that i have spent 5 of those 6 months living here in the Phils so we had tonnes of evidence. I was worried about it at first but there is no time requirement in the rules

    congratulations danandclavs,

by looking on your timeline that was quick- BUT of course if its meant to be it will happen without any hassle at all.
It's a good news really... for spousal visa. I hope this is the start that the UKBA people will process as fast as they can, knowing that there are still filipinas waiting for their visas.
    All the best!
    han
