    NHS treatment

Hi this is maricris. I arrived here in the UK on 28th of june 2012 on a spouse visa. Am I entitled to NHS treatment as I think I have ingrowing toe nail or do I have to pay privately?

    Many thanks
    Maricris

Yes, Maricris ... your marriage to John, a British national, automatically entitles you to free [at source] NHS treatment. All you need do, is simply present your passport - as proof of your status - to the reception desk at your husband's GP surgery in order to register there as a patient.

    It really IS that easy.

Yes. My wife has been able to make use of the NHS on several occasions and free of charge.

Ingrowing toenail. Painful. I had one about 10 years ago.

I agree best to get it seen to quick while you still have the NHS..
A lot of the services are being put out to private tender.

Arthur is right... You have to register first to the surgery, then you are entitled to all NHS service. But not the medication although it is not a big amount. If you are exempted then you don't have to pay.
