    your home in the phils

just watching tv and its about australia, i did notice that some of the houses there are made from steel sheeting, makes me think if its good for them may be good in the phils, yes very very hot, but look at all the roofs in the phils, most are steel so why not the sides too

The trouble with steel is that in conducts heat. But I guess a covering of some other material, over the top, would sort that out?

I used to work in them. Extra long ones.

    Like this.

They used to get quite hot in the summer, even in the UK.

What about the insulation? Would it not make a nice nest for all sorts of creepy crawlies and reptiles? Would need to be well sealed. And rust proofed.

Have a look at this. These have been built for accomadation purposes:

I agree with that. Cooling is essential. Water cooling works. Just need a pump, a source of cool water and some integral pumbing. For when you cant run an AC. And protection from direct sunlight.

Its a good idea and if you know anything about construction in the tropics and how to keep a property cool (without A/C) there is no problem with heat issues.. The same principles apply to any other local houses built with standard building materials using these simple methods.

Wouldn't work unless you kept the air con on 24hrs a day. As somebody else mentioned you could have a problem with insects once they are inside the insulation!
The guy living in Cebu is now working in the middle east.
