NSO Marriage Certificate - have my wife and I got the record for waiting?

My wife and I got married in her province back in April - great wedding but now regretting the choice to get married there instead of Manila as they are taking so long to register our marriage so we can get our NSO certificate. The provincial NSO say it's 'protocol' not to register things directly online but to create a paper trail from town hall to local.NSO to Manila

Well, 6 months after our wedding and all our visa docs are ready apart from the NSO marriage cert. So, what I would like to know is:

a: if anyone else has had as frustrating experience as this.

b: if it has to be the NSO cert and not a local marriage certificate for the spouse visa application.

As far as I know, it has to be the NSO certificate. Ours only took a few weeks, but we opted for a speedier service.

Having said that, 6 months sounds awfully long.

Could I ask what the speedy service was called. My wife has obtained various endorsements to try to speed things up but they keep on talking about protocol and that it can take up to a year!

Yes. Sorry, I couldnt remember the name of the "speedier service" or the method, as my wife handled that, but others obviously can. Hope you get the NSO cert soon!

Better to get an endorsement to your fiance local registry and if she knew somebody here in Manila ask them to forward it with the original marriage license to NSO Quezon Ave. and ask a copy of marriage certificate after 1 week she can get it. She's going to pay just P140.

Your local city hall will send a transmittal to NSO for a small fee.
you should get it it in 15 days ours took 7 weeks

I can confirm that there is a method to speed things up. We married in Dalaguette, and had to chase up the papers to be sent to Cebu City Hall. From the City Hall we had to pay for the documents to be processed quickly. This was relatively quick, and can be controlled fairly easily by a bit of pressure and expedite fees.

Then the next step is the NSO, and this is done quickly through 'Advance Endorsement'

If the birth/marriage/death occurred within the Philippines, you may file for "advance endorsement" at the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of the city/municipality where the child was born. Advance endorsement means requesting the LCRO to advance ("endorse") a copy of the birth certificate to the National Statistics Office (NSO) ahead of the regular schedule of submission of civil registry documents. The LCRO will charge a fee for this service.
Please ensure that the copy to be forwarded to the NSO is the ORIGINAL COPY for the OFFICE OF THE CIVIL REGISTRAR GENERAL, or the OCRG Copy. Otherwise, you will be issued the NSO Feedback Form containing further instructions.
You may have the document forwarded to the NSO via your preferred local courier service; this will be to your account. Delivery should be addressed to:

Thank you all for your replies - hopefully we can get this sped up as it's very frustrating process going backwards and forwards from town hall to provincial capital to island capital (Pilar- Roxas - Iloilo) trying to sort it out, and then it all still has to go to Manila....

I will be out there soon again - was hoping it would be to collect my wife and bring her back with me, but guess we're going to have to wait

Lastlid and RickyR- we've been told that we could only apply for the fast process in the first month after the wedding...and if that's the case we've left it too late. Did you apply for it in that timeframe? Thank you.

I didn't realise that. Yes we did apply, for the advance endorsement around 3 or 4 days after the wedding. We pushed the whole process through as quickly as possible.

Hopefully they'll find a way to resolve the issue. I can imagine the torment your experiencing at the moment.
