Second opinion - what's the chance of getting my wife a visitor visa?

Hi

Just a second opinion really.

Bit of background, I'm getting married very soon, and we'll be submitting the dreaded spousal visa a bit after. Not sure exactly when though, I will meet the income requirement very soon, but might leave it a couple of months after so I have more wageslips to shop - just a gut feeling that this is the right way to to, I don't know. New extra job you see, so having to earn my way to the criteria limit.

I was thinking, we might submit the visa application in December or February anyway (Or might wait for P60 time, that's the bit I'm unsure about) but that's a completely different subject, so leaving that aside.

My question though, I can't see us being able to submit the spousal visa before new year. It would though be very nice (Obviously) if wifey could join me to celebrate new year and all the other festivities, meet my family, go out with my friends and I etc.

Would anyone think though this is worth doing?

Top and bottom of it is, she's going back to Phils after completing a contract in the middle east, and won't have a job immediately. I'm going to support her out there - but you know their work ethic, she wants to find temporary work if she can as well. The hope is she can join me here after a few months anyway.

So -

• She won't have employment in the Philippines
• She won't have a history of my supporting her - she will have just arrived
• Her "compelling reason to return" will consist purely of "well if she didn't, that would stuff up her ever getting her spousal visa

On paper, this seems to me a case of "nah Ian, don't bother" - but I thought I'd ask.
Even if she got one, she'd obviously have to go back to apply for the spousal visa in January or February anyway (Though we probably wouldn't be in as much of a hurry to apply in that case, if she could stay here a few months anyway)

I know the cost of visitor visa applications isn't THAT much in the grand scheme of things, but it's all expense we could otherwise spend on ourselves, and most importantly to me, I just don't want to get her hopes up on this one.

there is a chance that when your married she could be refused a VV because the embassy could say she applied for the wrong type of visa, after all, if your marriage is sustaining then why is she just visiting you ? ..

but you know its not alot to gamble on, and shouldn't effect her getting a settlement visa, VV are always risky, but its worth a gamble , just expect a refusal and hope for good news thou

I was thinking along the same lines. I dont meet the required amount to bring my wife and stepkid over permamenantly. So what would my chances be? for a visit visa?

it also happen to me ... but they granted me a visit visa last year because im oly 20yrs old
