One of my main concerns with the increase of Islam here today is that seems run in direct conflict to what we are brought up to believe.
21st century Britain likes to instill that everyone is equal both Men and Women have the same rights. Whereas Islam for me and I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong quite clearly treats women and girls as second class citizens. I've seen women walking down the road covered from head to toe while hubby is walking along wearing the latest designer gear.
We have an extremely large Mosque and I remember immediately after the7/7 bombings they had a police guard. They also never seem to be penalised when they park in restricted areas or block entrances or roads on their major prayer days.
It does kind of leaving you thinking they get special treatment and I know it's breeds alot of discontentment in the area.
I do find it all a little scary for the future because none of this seems to have existed when I was growing up and now it seems to be spreading at such speed.
