IMHO regardless of party I regard this as fraudulent. They are no different to benefit thieves and should be treated exactly the same.

i disagree , they are in a trusted position and therefore should be treated more than just the same, they should be made an example of

... as public officials, they're elected to serve their constituents - NOT to literally "feather their own nests" at taxpayers' expense.

IMO, also, they are a lot more contemptible than your average Benefits' cheat.
