I read about this in the newspaper. Just a very small report.
I watched on the BBC - this very short report.

Did anyone else hear about this?

    Is it for real?

    Why there's no excitment anywhere?

reminds me of the film - The Heroes of Telemark
when the germans were creating heavy water - is this the same - a slow process and expensive to produce

Seems so. And also similar in nature to generating hydrogen fuel from water.

Seemingly its a case of extracting carbon dioxide from air and hydrogen from water, and combining them in a reactor with a catalyst to make methanol. The methanol is then converted into gas.

I did hear that it would be 10-15 years before it would become commercially available so at least that gives the government plenty of time to work out a strategy to tax us to the hilt for the privilege of using it.

Toyota to start selling hydrogen fuel-cell car in 2015

Will we need to go as far as generating petrol from air and water?
