    Drivers that make you laugh

Coming home from work on sunday night this guy came through the traffic lights on red and smashed into the side of my car. I managed to get out of the car. The guy said I want a written statement that it was your fault!. Good thing I am not a violent person or I would have ripped his head off.

Im ok steve just a bit of whiplash to my shoulder. Car is a write off. I have got a witness. The joker said I am a professor in law. I said that doesnt stop your eyesight going. He soon shut up when my work colegue (who was following me in her car) intervened.

    Thankfully you had a witness
I can only imagine how you would have felt, had he got away with blaming you

I am lucky, touch wood, that I have only been involved in two prangs with another driver. Both happened in Aberdeen a few years ago. The first was a driver that hit me from behind while we were all crawling along in slow moving traffic. He shunted me into the driver in front LOL. I think he must have been texting or something and couldn't have been watching ahead of him.

The other was also from the rear involving a driver simply driving too fast when he should have been slowing down for a roundabout ahead.

Fortunately both incidents were covered on company vehicle insurance and they sorted out the mess accordingly. Thankgod.

Thanks all the insurance sent me to a physio today they recommend 6 sessions. It feels like somebody has punched me in the shoulder. Neck is a bit sore. The physio said it is normal.

You must be a calm person, to handle that type of scene.
    Good thing your fine.

I am now learning to drive and had couple of lessons already, and as a learner it really scares me seeing oncoming cars w/o any indicators on and then all of a sudden they are already in front of me.
Mind you i don't get angry, 'coz that's what the coach said she said just ignore it. And be vigilant all the time, it's part of your learning curve.

I have side airbags.... but don't want to test them

Always have the voice recorder on your smartphone ready to start .... and video the damage and local enviroment.

to read of your misfortune at the hands of this "absent-minded professor", Andy. Pity about your vehicle being written-off ... but the MAIN thing is, you, thankfully, emerged relatively unscathed - apart from the after effects of the whiplash.

However, I would certainly hope the other party's insurance will also cover the cost of remedial physiotherapy.

Well no side airbags Im afraid and no recording. I have the rest of the evidence ie name address reg number. My insurance has checked him out apparently he is driving on his wifes insurance for some strange reason. My insurance company arranged my legal cover. Solicitors have been in touch. My witness has sent her statement off. It was my solicitors who arranged the physio appointment. I dont think they would do all this if they thought they couldnt recover the costs.

Andy, I'm so sorry to read about this.

I'm just preparing for a trip to Hong Kong and Philippines so won't be online for the forum over this month.

My best wishes - I can understand the stress this has caused.

Andy, I'm also glad to learn that you're OK.
Hope you soon be back to 100%.

Must be odd being on the other end of treatment

Maybe I'm over suspicious, but it does seem this guy may have a 'history'.
Luckily, you've got witnesses, is there any CCTV?

Good luck mate hope you recover fully fit and ready for action

Especially with your holiday coming soon

Cops were called all they asked is was there any injuries and were the cars drivable. It was the other guy that called them but that was before my witness turned up. I was told because of the adrenalin pumping round people do not feel any pain from whiplash at first. Thanks hawk. Are you in the phils now with your beloved?

The claim is in the solicitors hands the main point is I am away from work which means no overtime and less chance of getting the wife here. Now I will have to work 7 days a week instead of the 6 that I hoped I would.
    Thanks anyway.

just be careful Andy, get to the doctors and get it sorted, you dont want this injury to come back every year, my bros is going through a claim at the mo, been going on for about 9 months, so many visits to the doctors and physiotherapy, but its worth it

Im hoping to get back to work in 3 weeks steve if all goes well. Your brother must have taken a far worse hit than me.. Obviously I will follow the advice of the doctor and physio. The physio said it was a grade 2 whiplash injury so its not that bad.
