Only thing I'd bear in mind, is that UK chocolate (Being amongst the best in the world, not like that Belgian or other continental crap) is designed for cool climates and won't cope well at all if it goes to phils. I found this out after taking a load of choc with me when I went over in September, and it turned to mush.

ps, let them take the toffee pennies, they are disgusting! That's why small shopkeepers never let you put Quality Street in the pick and mix, because they knew they would be left with those cheap nasty toffees hardly anyone liked
im assuming if in my suitcase while flying should be ok i would imagine the cargo hold will be cold at altitude, im thinking as soon as possible after arriving to put in refridgerator,while in manila, for other travel maybe something like a cold bag you get to keep frozen food from thawing untill you get it home, it wont be a perfect solution but may help delay reduce any melting
