Engagement used to mean something to do with marriage.

It must now be one of the most over-used words (by those lacking in vocabulary and imagination) in the politically-correct world....along with 'driving forward' etc.

Every time I hear some thick pompous little official using these expressions I just want to kick them in the knackers.
