Okay, I don't have a doubt that this girl and her family are 100% in danger if they return to Pakistan..But before UKBA process their applications, can they process the pending applications first?!?!?!?!

Well, the Pakistan government were supposedly covering all the girl's expenses, but no doubt that will change now and they will just go back to spending the hundreds of millions that we hand over to them each year to prop up their stone-age country.

It would be great if they did that for our wives.

Did anyone else mention 'stoneage technology' on this thread....apart from you ?

Perhaps you'd like a copy and paste off-topic side-room to yourself.

Time you went back on 'ignore'.

Stone-age country. Not sure if I agree with your use of the expression in the context of Pakistan (and many other countries come to that).

Apologies for having a different opinion to you. I agree with the OP on the topic and am undoubtedly disgusted at the amount of time it is taking to process FLR applications. But on your assertion of "stone age country" as you put it, I would suggest stone age thinking.

I seem to remember somebody asking questions about this a couple of weeks ago when she first came. I think it was Andy but not sure. Very perceptive whoever it was.

Well, to be honest, at first I thought people were being a bit harsh as highlighted by Terpe's post at the time. However whether she be from Pakistan or Timbuktoo it doesnt appear to have progressed in a way that is fair to the people of Britain (and their visa applicant partners).

By the way, I used the word technology as "Stoneage" implies comparitive lack of technology, virtually by definition. It seems obvious that you are unaware that technologies have been quite strongly developed in Pakistan otherwise you wouldn't use the expression "stone-age" in association with Pakistan.

It was Andy and then CBM stormed out of the room after making the old racist accusation at those of us who had the audacity to question why she had come all this way for treatment

I find using Stone Age in connection with Pakistan highly objectionable - it is an insult to our prehistoric ancestors

    Snivelling

Not really. Though I am prepared to believe that you used the wrong word unintentionally. If I was a Pakistani on this forum I would have been offended with your statement.

Copying and pasting from the BBC:

"A Pakistan High Commission spokesperson said: "The government of Pakistan is responsible for the welfare of Malala and her family while they are in the UK.

Listen my friend, I live in the real world.
I work closely with work colleagues from the sub-continent every day of the week. I have visited Pakistan, India and several other Asian countries as well as the middle east and Africa. Worked and lived for many years overseas too.

Yesterday I was in Broad Street Birmingham meeting with a Pakistani Managing Director and then delivering a (technology-based) training session to a group of 30 or so of his employees who were from diverse religions, races and cultures...including a white Scottish Muslim woman.

Copy and paste away, but please don't make assumptions about your audience, miss-interpret their posts or attempt to put your own spin on them.

So why use the words "stoneage country" except to be derogatory. You put your own spin on it when you used those words. My friend.

BTW. You aren't the only person on the planet that is well travelled or worked or lived overseas or spent a lot of time in the third world / developing world. You are not special in that way.
