I used to know a girl in cebu,single mother but sharp as a pin,she should have been on the pinoy version of the Apprentice,she used to get mother of pearl shipped up from Zambo and had several workmen in her employ who used to carve or machine shells and MOP into intricate decorative ornaments,lampshades etc,I went to sabah with a badjao guy once from sitangkai,we stopped at a pin-prick small sliver of an island,reeked of rotting flesh,mountains of shells were rotting in the sun awaiting sale once they had cleaned,visit the natural history museum in London,look at the black coral seized when customs and excise here stopped a shipping container full of the stuff as it entered the UK,the sea is getting stripped bare.
