Ah the refugee council I remember them well when I was a full time cabby in London. They had a Taxi account to pick the refugees up when they had been nicked and take them back to their hostels. First Class travel for our unwanted visitors.
same rules that apply to our spouses should apply to them, you've got a criminal record and you get refused entry to the UK, no matter who or where your from..
This is the sort of thing that stops our wives coming here.
