They don't make me cringe, just annoy the hell out of me.
All of them basically apart from the Pogues one, Band Aid and Last Christmas. Driving Home for Christmas is ok too as its mellow.
Cringe, annoy and plain depress, surely it has to be the worst so called Christmas song ever - "Do they know it's Christmas"!
Why oh why is this pile of 80's throwback still trotted out, and somehow touted as a traditional now Christmas song?
It was originally designed to get to people, to make them feel guilty, unhappy and to literally spoil their Christmas in order for them to make a charity donation,that was it's exact purpose and it did exactly the job it was designed to do, but now - there's no reason to be playing it, the charity event is over. Don't people actually listen to the words of this song - it's an excellant piece of heart-pulling charity raiser, but a Christmas song to cherish - no.
And on top of this, it's somehow obtained that so sought after of status - the song which it's somehow the height of bad form to dare to criticise it
It's unbelievably inappropriate for such as parties to stick this on inbetween Frosty the Snowman and Merry Christmas Everybody, but hey
The song has never spoilt my Xmasand has a better tune than some of the other dross that gets played.
When " Do They Know It's Christmas" comes on you can think about sad old people like me...eating Baked Beans on toast and with nobody to pull their Christmas cracker.

Well I was going to suggest this one.....................but when I listened to it it didn't seem so bad as I remembered.

There are two lines from two Christmas songs that get on my tits
"When the snowman brings the snow" being one. ARGHHHHHHHHH How???
but the one that gets me the most is "And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmas time" Do I have to point out the bleeding obvious!
