    E Trycycles

100,000 e-tricycles to ply PH roads soon

"Pinoys are seen to benefit from a "green revolution" with the Asian Development Bank's approval of a $300-million loan for the full rollout of the country's e-tricycle (e-trike) program.

The groundbreaking project to be implemented by the Energy department is aimed at replacing 100,000 gas-burning tricycles in the Philippines with "clean, energy-efficient electric tricycles," the ADB said in a statement.

I think this is brilliant as long as their prices remain affordable to local punters..Same goes for the electric jeeps... We nearly bought an electric scooter for 25K the other day..
What broke the deal was the fact that it only runs for 60 clicks before it runs out of juice.
    No good to me.
There is also a jeep design here that runs on compost gas(methane).. They were originally supposed to fill up at smokey mountain in Manila.. I hope that plan rolls out one day too.

Was just imagining the jeep with a pig strapped on the back to produce the methane....only in the Philippines!

    Trust me!
If strapping a pig or two could run a Jeepney,it would have started in 1955.

Here in Shanghai nearly 95% of the scooters you see on the roads are electric, they are great. No screaming exhaust or ploom of blue smoke. Very affordable too. It must be a way forward to end or reduce pollution.

I am all for this sort of thing.

There was an electric category in the Isle of Man TT race this year.

    Top speeds over 100mph
