That does sound fun...depending upon who you're sharing a seat with I suppose.
It was always my intention to take the Trans-Siberian train trip when I was in Hong Kong back in the 90s (when it was still a bit of an adventure), having met one or two travellers who'd done it. About the same price as a single air ticket at the time, and the journey (to Moscow) took around 8-10 days depending on which of the 2 routes you chose.
Sadly one of those things I just didn't get round to, what with work and family commitments.
