Terpe. Could you clarify the new rules. I mean how does it affect applying for a spouse visa? Many thanks.

Changes to the Immigration Rules come into effect on 13 December 2012

    13 December 2012

A number of changes to the Immigration Rules come into effect today (13 December 2012). These changes will affect non-European Economic Area nationals applying to enter or remain in the UK.

    The changes include:

    - Non substantive changes to all PBS tiers.

    - Establishing a more robust and clear criminality framework against which immigration applications will be assessed.

    - Amendments to clarify the absences from the UK that are allowed during the continuous residence period for settlement for Tier 1 (General), Tier 2 and pre-points based system work routes (for example work permits, self-employment and business person).

    - Minor changes to the child and parent routes to make them as clear and comprehensive as possible and changes to simplify the operation of the income threshold for sponsoring family migrants.

We have also updated our application forms and guidance, please see our application form news item for further information.

Further information, including the Statements of Changes to the Immigration rules (HC 760 and HC820), and the Explanatory Memorandum can be found in the news story published on 22 November 2012.

Hi Sir Terpe, the form(PERSONAL DETAILS FORM (VAF4A DECEMBER 2012)
FAMILY SETTLEMENT APPLICATION FORM) for settlement has changed and there is no part for "Finances and Employment", Do I still need to submit my employment certificate indicating the leave of absence from my online Canadian employer or is it better to submit nothing since I am applying for Proposed Civil Partner which it doesn't require of any ties here in the Philippines. Pls help. Thank you.

The VAF4A series of forms are for those who intend to follow the settlement route.
Form VAF4A Appendix 2 is for Financial Requirements

If you are intended to make application for eventual settlement (VAF4A) then you will not require any employment certificate.

I know..how would you answer a question like this? What if your sponsor receives Disability Living Allowance and it's one of the reasons he can't live outside UK? Or can you just put an answer like "No, because he's a British citizen who has rights to stay in the UK and sponsor his wife to stay with him in in the UK."?

yeah,, i wonder if it will be benefit for people who are depending on allowances,, obviously they can't send someone abroad who is ill or disabled.

will they refuse my application coz my hubby is still young and able? that he's got more chance of getting a job abroad? tut tut..
