    Hi Joannet,
As the UKBA states, payment MUST be made online and MUST be made via a Visa Card or Mastercard. It MUST be paid in dollars.

    There's really no workaround.
However, making online payments by Visa Card or Mastercard does not necessarily mean having a credit card.

There are a number of 'pre-payment' Visa Cards and Mastercards.
    Often called pre-payment currency cards.
These can be available for balances and spends in Dollars, British Pounds Euros etc.

One such card that I have experience with is from Caxton FX
If you want more information just google caxton FX

These cards are not credit cards.
There are however 'Chip and PIN' and can be 'loaded' online or by telephone etc.

If your husband would get one he could also get one for you too.
Your hubby can top up your card and you can use it just as you would any debit card for direct purchase or ATM withdrawals.

However, that card needs loading from a bank account.
Just how you can move the hard cash you have to an electronic load on the card I don't know. There are many possibilities for the international transfer of cash. (just for example Western Union)

Why not discuss with your husband about the options available.

I would have thought that would be fine.
But these applications are too serious not to be 100% sure.

May I kindly suggest you give a call to VFS office. I'm sure there'll be able to confirm that for you.

Would you be kind enough to share the result here if you phone to VFS?

I just called Santander. They said they cannot pre-authorise a transaction. But assure me it will go through. And if there is any issues with it. I would be contacted soon after. When i have been in the Philippines. I have always contacted the Fraud Department to let them know i am in the country. They wanted to know how long i would be staying. They told me that my Debt Card would be fine until that date. However i am doing this transaction from the UK. Let's see.

I have no VFS 'hotline number' for their office.
I know that the general call centre number is quite expensive to call.

    Here's the e-mail address: info.ukph@vfshelpline.com
This is free and VFS say you'll get an answer within 5 working days.

There is a telephone number and the name of someone at the VFS office somewhere here in the forum. I'll try a search and see if I can find it.
