The same application form is used for many different types of settlement. In your case the spouse and the sponsor are the same.

Because your spouse is also your sponsor then I would have thought there would be no problems in using his debit card

Reading the Visa application on UKBA can I confirm that my wife to be will need to apply and fill out the VFA4 form online as apposed to printed PDF docment filled in by ball point pen.

    How to apply

To apply for a visa, you must:

complete and submit a visa application form online; and
visit our visa application centre in Manila or Cebu (applicants who wish to lodge their application at the visa application centre in Cebu must pay an additional service fee of 3,900 Philippines pesos. The fee is payable in cash at the centre on submission of the visa application).

You will need to print out and sign your completed form. If you do not have access to a printer when you apply, you will be able to log in and print out the form later.

You can find the online application form under 'Do it online' on the right side of this page.

When you have completed your online application, you will receive an email message containing your application number (also known as a 'GWF reference'). Please make a note of this number.....

    Many thanks John

PS Could I pay the fee for my wife using my Visa card?

    John, actually that's now mandatory
Visa or Mastercard, Debit or credit

    There's really no workaround.
However, making online payments by Visa Card or Mastercard does not necessarily mean having a credit card.

There are a number of 'pre-payment' Visa Cards and Mastercards.
    Often called pre-payment currency cards.
These can be available for balances and spends in Dollars, British Pounds Euros etc.

One such card that I have experience with is from Caxton FX
If you want more information just google caxton FX

These cards are not credit cards.
There are however 'Chip and PIN' and can be 'loaded' online or by telephone etc.

If your husband would get one he could also get one for you too.
Your hubby can top up your card and you can use it just as you would any debit card for direct purchase or ATM withdrawals.

However, that card needs loading from a bank account.
Just how you can move the hard cash you have to an electronic load on the card I don't know. There are many possibilities for the international transfer of cash. (just for example Western Union)

Why not discuss with your husband about the options available.
Im not sure if it wud be a nice idea to ask my husband to access my online application in VFS and then he will pay in UK using his credit card?My husband and I are planning to do that. Im not sure if it wud be fine.

Maria, that's what most folks are doing.
    No choice really.
Doesn't need to be credit card can be debit card.

What is it that worries you?
