if you haven't been here yet for 2 years, you should apply directly to your nearest dvla local office for your provisional driving licence. you just need to have your passport. if you haven't had amended your passport yet, you should also bring your marriage licence. the payment now is £45. it was just £38 last month. this is if you decide to learn to drive.

by the way, you have to apply in person and you can get & fill-up application form there. they accept debit card payment now. maybe that's why they increase fees.

Use a driving instructor you normally pay by the hour loads of them about. Also much safer than learning with a realtive or friend in their own car. The instructor is used to learners so will be more calmer and not panic when you make a little mistake. They also have dual control cars so if there is a chance of an accident they can brake etc.

if it's alright with your husband, he has to buy you a cheap 2nd hand/old car that still function well for you to learn... just like what my hubby did for me. he doesn't want me to break his cool car.

Hello girls, base on my experience its best to get driving lesson from qualified driving instructor because they have more patience.

If you hubby is going to teach you, they must add you in their insurance to drive their car. Also make sure you have prepared your divorce or annulment papers ready at the back of the car and maybe one way ticket to go home. Expect tampos and tantrums whatever you may call it.

Mrs Daddy...what kind of work you are applying for? I am thinking of working also while studying since I am only required to go to school for 3 hours a day. I want to work the rest of my time. I am a nurse and a midwife also. I hope I will not have a hard time looking for work once I am there.

Hi maria,I plan to work as a carer and I think am going to accept the one few yards away from where we live even if its not permanent/part time, what I mean by that is that they`ll gonna call you if somebody`s absent or on holiday with their staff as hubby told me maybe I`ll get employed when someone has to resign, but I don`t know if that will happen,we`ll see.you sound like a busy girl then mariawhat about time for your hubbyI am allowed only to work 20 hours in a week as he doesnt want me to work full timeanyway gud luck to both of us

Mrs Daddy, I am still single, no fiance, no husband. I will be studying in UK not to meet a man though it would be nice to meet locals, our kababayans or other races. I have extra time to work after school thats why I will look for a part time job in London.

Hi, Maria...I'm just confused about you and your posts...you said you're single, no fiance, no husband...but that's different from what you've said in this thread...http://filipinaroses.com/forum/showt...0579#post30579 . Here , you said you have a boyfriend in the USA? Is boyfriend means a friend that is a boy? or am just too suspicious? Just asking.

Everything you read on both posts are true. When I said single, I meant not married. Thats a difference here in the Philippines. When we say single, it means not married but I know in other countries, it means no boyfriend.
