I have now received my final bank statement,and payslip. So i can now apply for my wife's spouse visa. I have 6 months bank statements all showing well above £1550 gross for each month. I have just secured a 12 month tenancy on my rented house. Also i have a letter from the landlord reference the house overcrowding etc.
Has anyone already applied for a spouse visa with two children(British Citizens) or have any advice for me?

Andy could i ask you. I am sure i read in one of your posts. That you had a stepdaughter in the philippines. And you did not earn enough to bring her to UK. So what was the outcome? Did she eventually come here?
Go for it. You are exactly 2 months ahead of where me and the wife are. My last payslip is due Jan 31 when we will be applying Cebu once DHL have delivered it safely. Our son has a british passport already and such can be ignored as to the need for a separate visa. Congrats.
Yes we are in similar positions. Bur i have two children with British passports. I am just worried that the Eco will try and say that i have to earn more than the £18600 to bring them etc. Getting a bit paranoid i know. It's so stressful. I am sure mine will be a test case. Let's see.
Dont worry, I'll try and dig out the UKBA statement which clearly states that children holding British passports are not subject to the additional financial requirements. You have enough to worry about. I think Terpe posted it once also, maybe worth a search.
One thing I did hear and stress this is purely anectdotal is that if the child leaves the Phils on a British passport they can be fined as overstayers since birth??!!!! My son has a Filipino passport also so will leave on that and arrive in the UK on his British so no issues (I hope) Good luck.

Yes i have raised that issue on this forum. But everyone seems positive and never had any issue bringing them to you UK as they were born in philippines and have a birth certificate. But if anyone knows any differen't i would be most interested.

Now, regarding your contract of employment, are you saying that you too are now employed on a 'zero-hours' contract??
This is not as uncommon as you may think.
I have been helping some folks in this same situation. It really shouldn't present a major barrier, especially now that caseworkers will revert back to evidential flexibility.
The key issue is having an employer/HR dept who is open to providing a letter of compliance that simply confirms:-
a) past payment history since adoption of zero-hours contract
b) future budgeted/expected hours
Don't forget that UKBA can only make determinations on historical data. No employer can give any guaranteed future employment or pay details.
To be honest Sheldon, I have not so far seen any refusals solely due to this type of contract.
I've also strongly suggested an explanatory statement from both sponsor (you) and employer.
I must also be fair to you and state that I have not been involved in applications that could be considered 'marginal' (ie just about on the lower limit of £18600 income. Most have been around £20,000 or more.
Hope this allays any nagging doubts on your side.
Thank you Terpe. My issues are that my Employer will confirm my hourly rate, i work 60 hours a week. I am permanent how long i have been employed there. I have regular overtime when available. But will not state how much i earn in the year. But i have the payslips 6 of them. All meeting the required £1550 or more. In fact my gross so far this year is just under £16000. So after Decembers pay i will nearly of reached the £18600 threshold.
As you know Terpe it says . Salaried,Fix Term,Agency. I don't believe i am any of them. I called A.C.A.S and they suggested Salaried. But which box do i tick? You mentioned new rules soon. Maybe they will clarify more then

Ok will do. But as i see it. These are fairly minor changes. If they move the goal posts again i will not be happy. This will be the 3rd time now i have been ready to apply and this has happened. What if i have to go and get my kids. Put them into school here. And leave the mother over there!!. I will then go on benefits cos i have nobody to look after my kids. I wonder how Mr Cameron would like that? That would certainly go down well with the media?

Here's my update as it stands. 24th December online application sent and paid. My wife's appointment in manila was the 4th Jan and Bio etc. We received an email on Tuesday 8th January that our application is been processed at the embassy. If you have been following my journey you will know all about the barriers i have been trying to get across. This is the part i have been dreading the waiting game. I hate this bit. It will be interesting to see if having two children with British Passports aged 5/6 will have any influence or not? I have read on other forums this may sway the decision as long as i don't have too many minor points against me. I will keep members informed of any news as i go along.

Good news, fingers crossed. I am not looking forward to the wait either, once everything has been submitted its just falls into a big black hole waiting for the decision, with no conformity as to whether it gets granted (as it will!) in 15 days or 90 days.
Yes. you are correct. When you have kids that could come here tomorrow if they want. But i can't bring their mum. That puts a rather different slant on it. But i have to focus on the positive. And i will...

sorry for not getting back to you on this one sheldon that is correct i earn enough to bring my wife here but not for my stepdaughter. i just need to put the overtime in and get the extra grand. i hope everything goes smoothly for you. it must be stressfull.
