He got 2 years which in my book means he will do less than 18 months. Hardly punishment for the crime. I bet he's got a nice big mansion waiting for him back in Romania
He'll be a lot better off than many homeless people in this country.

Ciggie smuggling is big business,it can make a man a millionaire almost overnight,I have spent quite a bit of time on Gibraltar over the last 2 years,its a national institution,I chatted to some spanish guys who were foot soldiers,they did the border crossing multitudinous times a day but were taking home £150 a day,tax free,the romanian guy got 2 years?Sentence halved then time off for good behavior,maybe serve a year and be out early with a tag for his curfew.
