Ignore that. Benguet, one of the highest provinces in the country is malaria free.

I've got an up to date list of all malaria free provinces somewhere. I'll try and find it.

The problem with lists on malaria and dengue is they are not always accurate. Malaria is almost non existent in the Philippines. Dengue still rears its ugly head now and again.
My advice would be make sure your Tetanus shot is up to date.
