Probably 90% of the refused ones are still in the UK anyway.

"Burns' Day" in Scotland! Supposedly to commemorate the birthdate of our 'National Bard' ... one, Robert [k/a "Rabbie"] Burns.

Hardly a cause for celebration ... after reading this disturbing news. But then, that said, those of us who wish our nation to remain part of the United Kingdom of (and I include myself!) MUST, in essence, be prepared to accept our share of the burden for two MAIN reasons, viz:-

    (i) Scotland's landmass adjoins that of its MUCH LARGER neighbouring country.

(ii) Despite its smaller geophysical size, Scotland is far, far less densely populated than MOST of England and, consequently, has a lot more land space available (at present!) to cope with the projected influx.

... though, it would be unlikely to cut any ice ... and might even end up adding "fuel to the fire" for Salmond and his motley crew.

I believe the population of Scotland is about the same as that of Yorkshire.

... apart from its four four main cities - around which MOST of the population's concentrated - not really.

... if you have a look at my reply to Graham, you'll see it's less than half of that figure.

... dunno, Graham - what IS the population of Yorkshire?

... Scotland had fewer than 51/2 million inhabitants at the time of the last census in 2011.

Seems that there are 5.3 million of us currently in 'god's country'.

anyway, nothing new, we have had people from other countries living here for long long time,, half of my neighbours are from england,, and they were not invited !!,, but no, after our glorious day of independence we will not be throwing them out
