    Collecting the Visa and documents.

When a partner visa is granted, are the visa and documents collected from the processing center where the application and documents were originally submitted?

If so, is another appointment needed when collecting the documents or can you just turn up?

If you didn't opt for it to be delivered in the house, yes, she needs to go to VFS and collect it. No need to make an appointment I think.

The reason I am asking this question is that I will be shortly travelling to the Phils to see my wife and help her apply for the partner visa.

If all documents are in order, there is a small chance the visa will be granted whilst I am out there and she can fly back with me.

I am travelling back on the 4th of March. When she applies it will make sense if she states an earlier date for when the visa starts as she will need a valid visa for the CFO sticker before she can fly (she will already have taken the CFO seminar by then).

If an appointment is needed to collect the documents then it could be another week before we get the documents back. Just trying to work out the timing of things...

Visa and documents are all in one pack, as visa will be stamped in her passport. In the application form, you can input there your intended travel date to UK, and UKBA will based the visa validity from that date if it is granted. Take note that it's still up to the ECO/ECM what the validity of the visa would be and the waiting time for it to be granted might take long. If you avail of the VIP service of VFS, they would text and email your fiancee/wife the progress of her application and once decision has been made, they will deliver the documents to her doorstep.

You have two choices on returning the docus with you, pay for the courier to deliver it to your doorstep and collect it in VFS. Your choice and its up to you which is more convinient.

She can state a plan of flying into the UK but it doesnt mean that they will grant the wish or approve the visa before the said date. Visas are reviewed by its own merit and case. Some come quick, some can take ages. The link below is the timeframe for all the visas. Just have a look. It'll give you more idea.

Moving forward...i don't know if its the same every CFO offices but when I did mine in Cebu, it would take 2 days for the seminar and you should come early so you probably need to review that with whichever office your planning to attend the simenar. And the CFO stamp (in Cebu) is located in a different place to where the seminar office is situated.

    Thanks for the replies people.

Angellegwen, my wife will be taking her seminar in Manila. She needs to do this soon as the CFO certificate is a requirement of a passport renewal (her current passport is damaged). My wife has already visited the CFO center and from what we understand, in Manila, it takes one day.
