Thumbs up The Wonders of Life - Brian Cox in the Philippines!

    BBC2 tonight at 9. Don't miss it!

Brian Cox is brilliant and if this new series is anything like the last two "Wonders" series, it will be awesome. I follow him on Twitter and he posted plenty of pics from the Philippines when they were filming there last year.

I've been waiting for this series to start since then!

Cheers. As you know my spelling is worser. I know lake Taal well as we sometimes go canoeing there. Free of charge Pass it once a week when delivering to Tagatay.
Will look up Brian Cox as like things explained the simple way.

For those who missed it, you check and you may find its repeated on BBC four within the next few days

The animals in tagatay mini zoo are kept in appalling conditions. If you ever go there don't waste your money.

Not a very good photograph of taal volcano and lake.

Pity though, that most of these programmes featuring the Phils invariably tend to focus on Luzon ... and/or the poorer areas of Manila.

shocking, i went about 10yrs ago, i think it was grizzly bear they had in a cage, it was pacing backwards and forwards, tigers cramped in small cages

at the time i thought of trying to find someone to complain to like the WWF or RSPCA.

Did the grizzly have enough room to pace back and forwards. The cages are just concrete with no foliage or fresh water. Think there was a lion at the front that didn't really move. Reminded of the cowardly lion on the wizard of oz.
Disgusting place that should be closed down.

    Absolutely wonderful stuff.

He has the charisma and that special gift to carry this off. Unmissable TV in my opinion.
I watched it on my iPad live (thanks my catchupTV app)

His previous Wonders of ..... series I have on DVD

... wonder if he'll ever be coaxed into doing a series on any of the OTHER scenic Philippine islands like the Visayas or Mindanao.

I was decorating all day yesterday , so I didn't get the reminder out until an hour before it started!

As I expected, it was a brilliant programme. I didn't study biology when I was younger, so it's particularly interesting to me.

Having the first episode flimed in the Philippines just added to the interest. Roll on next Sunday. If I only watch one TV programme next week, it will be this one!
