Does my wife need to undergo a Medical before applying for a spouse visa?

I would like to know if my wife need a medical including a TB Test and Chest xray before we apply for our spouse visa?

I am not aware of a requirement for medical examination.
There will be a pre-entry tuberculosis ( TB ) screening programme for applicants wishing to come to the UK, involving 67 “ high incidence “ countries including the Philippines.
The new procedure means if you are applying for a UK visa from the Philippines for 6 months or more, you must be screened before you apply - but not for tourists, business visitors or other visitors, going for less than 6 months.
The programme has NOT yet been implemented – although it may do so during 2013.
