Travel Dilemma... What's your best advice?

My mum-in-law was so worried that I can't attend my brother-in-law's wedding in South Africa this December because it might complicate my ILR application. She is still positive though that the whole family can go and even adviced me to ask people here in forum on what's the best way to do it. Here's my case:

    - FLR M expires Nov 27, 2013
    - I'm planning to apply for ILR Oct 27, probably go to Settlement Checking Service so I don't miss any paperworks
    - Brother-in-Law's wedding on Dec 17, but will fly there on the 10th
    - I still have to apply for African visit visa, book flights and hotels. But good thing the family are willing to pay some of the expenses going there because they know we are saving up to apply for ILR.

    My questions are:
    1. I heard that some people got their ILR after 2 weeks of submitting it, did it arrive before the FLR_M expiration date?

    2. Is there a way to make the UKBA process the ILR faster, maybe show some proof like wedding invitation, flight tickets or hotels?

    3. Lastly, where can I apply for South African tourist visa?

I tried and researched about it too, but would love to know what your thoughts are. Thanks so much

How about booking an appointment at one of the PEOs? This is the fastest way I think.

I might actually do that Vernier. Would be paying more, but with my situation, it could be the best option.

........................... seems an excellent ... I should imagine there'd be every chance of securing an appointment at either Croydon - or one or other of the UKBA's seven Public Enquiry Offices - this far ahead.

yeah try the premium service ... you will know the result of your application the same day and the documents are usually back within a couple of days and BRP(Biometric Residence Permit) within a week.

Given the timetable you outlined that would be your ONLY option to make it.
Just be sure your application is 100% fully compliant in content and document quality.

Take a look at this thread called How to make PEO Online Visa Application Booking
I'm sure it will help you get that appointment slot. Be prepared to be patient, lots of other's also following the PEO route
    due to long waiting times.
Also be aware that the appointment slots are only made available for 6 weeks in advance. Good luck

I recommend you put your own interests before those of your in-laws.

It is just too important for YOU.

... on reflection, it may not be feasible in the event of any rigid adherence to the UKBA's ruling against applying sooner than 28 days prior to the 2nd anniversary date of the foreign partner's arrival here.

But I'd say it's definitely worth the couple making a call to explain the extenuating circumstances. And ... ... who knows ??
