Passing the English language test is one of the requirements of spouse visa application. Therefore, you must to take the test prior to spouse visa application.

Is it your wife or your husband that is taking the English Test? Is she/he in the Philippines right now? If yes then applying for a settlement visa in the Philippines requires you to submit an english certificate from UKBA's approved english test providers. See link for the list of approved english test provider. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/si...lish-tests.pdf

If you are talking about ILR, then you have to demostrate the knowledge of language and life in the UK by taking life in the uk test or taking ESOL. Follow link for more info. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/br...alisation/kol/

Correct me if I am wrong. xxx

Your welcome! Just finish your visit visa then you have to go back to the Philippines and apply for spousal visa. Im sure you are aware that you cannot extend your stay becos of the visa you are currently holding. Just shout and we'll help you as much as we can. xx
