Don't give up on the dating sites. They are not ALL scammers on there.

You just have to become savvy at weeding the scammers from the genuine....and there are many many thousands of genuine ladies on there.

Your idea of contacting a family you once knew sounds a bit 'desperate' to me. lol. (no offence intended ).

A trip to the Philippines will really put everything into perspective for you, and it is a FUN destination anyway.

Should you wish to confine your search to the UK, then yes there are plenty of (single ???) Filipinas here, but you also have stiff competition in the 'wooing' stakes.

We met in dateinasia as well and became good friends before we got into serious relationsip, in fact we ended up in marriage!! I agree with Graham, not all of them are scammers but you should be so aware and careful. You can visit the country as well for soul searching, being there and meet ladies in person might work. Dont give up! there are loads of genuine outhere! Goodluck!

There's a good idea (I'm actually being serious now!). *Sample the wonderful, second-to-none, Filipino culture. And then ... ... who knows? ... perhaps even use *this as a plausible excuse for "knocking on that particular door" while he's over in the Philippines.
