Hello friends I've just joined this site today and would like some advice from any members who have married in the church 'with gods blessing in the Philippines I have a long term girlfriend now for 2 years we plan to get married later on this year we are both Roman Catholics I'm sure there are lots of hurdles to cross and paperwork to gather 'I would like to hear from any members who have gone down this route just to put my mind at ease .
A good first step starting point would be a review here of this thread CENOMAR, CNI and Marriage in the Philippines
A good second step would be to have your fiancee discuss the paperwork needed by the priest in the church where you'll be married.
You'll need to have your Baptismal Certificate for example.
Also be sure to do some research here. Many of our members (including myself) have trodden the same path and there's some great 'nuggets' of info hidden within our threads.

It may help to mention what particular island,city or place that the marriage will take place -then maybe someone will have some info for that area.

Well, nothing to it - the church wedding religious bit I mean, so don't worry about all the "hurdles to cross" stuff because really there aren't any as such.
Regarding getting married in Phils - religious or not - yes there are a few things to sort. The link to the thread Terpe posted will be of great use.
You need to plan a "critical path" for your marriage. Really though, as long as you are organised, it's no biggie, so don't worry

This particular post should help you out. You'll need a letter from your Catholic parish priest in the UK, recommending you (good character etc).
The processes in the Philippines can be a little long winded with interviews and seminars, which you both need to attend, so factor that in. Also understand that nothing is standardised and you can expect differences between different parishes and regions.
The most important thing that the Catholic church require should be placed and sealed inside a brown envelope.

I converted an hour before the wedding to save all the hassle
Please note this was in the last century so the rules may have changed.

Nearly as bad as a mate of mine.. He had to convert to Muslim so he could marry his Mrs in Malaysia...
I now have to get a local to body search him when he visits our house...

Another easy way is to purchase or download and print a simple document like the one below and fill it in yourself.. There are lots of simple ageing techniques if you want to make it look more authentic.
