Well hi everyone
After a mammoth as always trip, I finally arrived yesterday in Manila.
Etihad were as good as ever, even though it involved a 6 hour wait in Abu Dhabi airport. Thankfully I had noticed what many had done the last time I was here (Sneaked blankets out the plane), so when I saw some Pinoy guys trying to sleep on the floor at gate 29 where eventually the Manila flight would depart from, I decided to go native and join them
Good tip is that there's free wifi at Abu Dhabi, and if you really really want to, if you are British you can just walk out and get a taxi to town. I didn't fancy this as see one camel, you've seen the lot. Or joking apart - see one shopping mall then you've seen the lot!
Manila arrivals is as nuts as ever. This time some official kept asking me how ill I was, and asked if I would be going to what sounded like the Barangay. No idea what he was really saying, the flight had affected my hearing, and besides I already knew to go down the ramp and out to the chaos which is the greeters area. If you've been here (and I imagine most on here have) then you'll know what I mean.
Anyway Krish and sister were here to meet mechecked in at Berjaya, and the relaxing vacation really started.
This morning, the event I largely made the trip for - visit to Eco Plaza for Krish's visa appointment. I'd taken over the bulging file of proof, and....................well.............you know what my thoughts and worries will be.
Whilst waiting downstairs, I decided to buy a coffee from that little drinks shop there. Tea nation is it called? Well, I took a sip............umm this isn't coffee. Another sip, very strange taste, is it chicory? No I just can't place it. It wasn't unpleasant as such, but I didn't like it. Well I said to the guy there, ok this isn't coffee - what is it. He said coffee, I said no it isn't, he then said, yes it's coffee, but we make it using tea.
Come again!!!
We make it using a tea base - we take tea and put a bit of coffee in it.
Eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww![]()
Anyway, off to see the family tomorrow early, and there is no internet or even phone there, so catch you all in a couple of weeks
