With regards to this grant I know as a british citizen and if you meet eligibility for it then it can be claimed, but on the form do you also fill in the part where it says partners details because really I want to leave that blank as she has no rescoure to public funds many thanks.....

Mark, there are a number of eligibility constraints for this.
If YOU are eligible then you can claim in you name.
Be sure the DWP understand that YOU are making the claim and that your wife has no benefit claims, no NINO and is subject to immigration controls (no recourse........)

Either of you may claim the grant, just be sure it's you.
You can fill in the form provide you make the claim basis clear.
