It's now 5 days since I had my first tattoo session and all is ok. But for the last few days my back has become really itchy as the skin over the tattooed area has been peeling off. It is just like after you have had sunburn and the skin is peeling, the same sensation. I am still keeping it moisturised as guided, but I just want to scratch it, but cant.

Blimey. It does look a bit red and scaly.
You know all those Philippine stories about mermaids don't you
Steve, have you had another session?
Hi Jake, Yes, it is all finished now. It has healed well but still itches a bit where the new skin is growing. Here is a photo of the finished tattoo, I will post another in a couple of weeks when it is really fully healed.

well you can't compare yours to this Steve
Thanks Graham, not exactly a tramp stamp is it I am so pleased with it. Mind you because my skin is quite fair, I normally wear a tee shirt at the pool or beach...

Nice
The colouring looks good.
Thanks Jake

It looks stunning Steve
Because I have been looking more into the world of tattoos since getting mine, I have found some real beauty and some real horrors. Here are two links to the great and the gory. Prepare to laugh, cry and gasp at how some people are so stupid and then see the absolute beauty and skill of a real artist at work on someone's skin. Some of the good tattoos are truly breath-taking. Bad: http://wtftattoos.com/ Good: https://www.facebook.com/tattoosandtattooart (look at the Photo gallery)

I'm a big fan of traditional Japanese tattoo and Asian art in general. This was my first sleeve.
This was my second sleeve
I then added a small tattoo under each sleeve.
I suppose there is not so much interest here but thought I would share anyway.
I had my leg started
First session finished.

You're welcome. I have a small tattoo but picked the worst (and most painful) part of my body for my first one. I have one done on my pelvis. I can feel my whole pelvic bone buzzing in pain. I remember slapping the tattooist face the moment the needle touched my skin! But oh well, no turning back now.
