Spam is junk e-mail is it not? Usually advertising porn or potency pills or something else no-one needs. I heard of Spim the other day too which is advertsing by yahoo messenger or similar..

I think junk e-mail is, strictly speaking, UCE: unsolicited commercial e-mail. The term "spam" originated on Usenet as far as I remember.
