I might be wrong but if they're not a Schengen country don't they have to go with passport through a border control desk therefore giving say the Germans more chance of stopping any criminal scum (of which we are led to believe 3 in 10 are)

According to the rules they are free to go to any EU country and if they havnt got a passport they can worm there way in and claim political asylum. They will find a way.

it will not make much difference
they are still Europeans, might be a bit of a problem when it comes to producing id to claim stuff thou and i'm sure they will not rush to process their apps for benefits
