The UK Border Agency has been working with the Post Office to improve the service we offer you, and make it easier for you to register your biometric information.

As part of these improvements a software update was completed yesterday, which will mean that all applicants using the online or postal application, will now be able to enrol their biometric information at one of the 105 participating Post Office branches across the UK.

This upgrade to the system will mean that if you are unable to give a complete set of fingerprints, or provide a signature or mark you will now be able to register your details at a participating Post Office. The software update also means that if you cannot give a compliant facial image, because you are blind, partially sighted or have long term facial injuries you will also be able to register your details at a participating Post Office.

Previously, if you were affected by any of these issues, you would have needed to travel to one of our 7 public enquiry offices, but you will now be able to register your biometric information at your local participating branch.

To find out more, please see the biometric residence permits page on this website.
