Hi to all, I'm sam, I'm here in Philippines and I am new on this forum. My fiancee planning to marry on July here in philippines when I get my annulment and after that we apply spouse visa here but my fiancee wants to apply spouse in England he talked already to the barrister to process all the documents so Im not the one to process here....and barrister said to him that it takes 6 to 9 months processing my spouse visa..and he asked me if how months it takes here in philippines?

First things first, you and your fiance need to fully understand those important documents that will be needed for your wedding in Philippines. There are many useful threads here a quick search will provide all you both need to know.

Concerning the Spouse Visa processing time take a look at this forum thread Timeline : ILR/ FLR/ Settlement Spouse / Fiance Visa
You'll see the actual processing time for members here.
Just recently the timing has significantly reduced.
The UKBA indicate that a Spouse/Fiancee visa processing will be up to 40 days for 38% of cases and up to 60 days for 90% of cases.

I notice that your fiance is considering having a UK immigration advisor prepare the application.
Look to be honest I have no way of knowing why he makes that decision. The advisor will only prepare the application based TOTALLY on the documents and supporting evidence provided by the sponsor, your fiance.

Again, I don't know what documents you husband already has or not, but on the basis that he can meet the financial requirement as a employee with earned income of £18600 then the preparation of the application will be in the order of about one month. Certainly not 6-9 months.

What is the reason that your fiancee is considering engaging a barrister/advisor rather than preparing himself and just having the barrister/advisor do a simple "Document Check" before submitting.
The visa application must be by online and the payment must be make online also.

Be sure that any advisor is approved and registered by The Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC)

Hi Terpe, I talked to my bf this morning and I told him about what you said and you know what he paid for 1200 pounds to the barrister and he said also the barrister his the one to gathered all the documents and after that he brings all the documents here in philippines and am worried also because the barrister say that my requirements only medical and english test so is that correct? its hard for me to explain to my bf he adviced to me to go to the philippines embassy to double check...Thank you

Yes, you will need to provide them with evidence. You need to support your application with proof of all the things you claim in it. They have to make a decision in around 20 minutes based on what you supply. They know nothing else about you, other then what you give them. So help them make a fast and accurate decision.

Without a doubt you will need to submit evidence, there may be some confusion. Is the barrister a specialist in immigration?
Without evidence, how will the 'Entry Clearance Officer' be able to determine that you are making a genuine application?
The application for the visa will be made by you in the Philippines, not from the UK.

Just as with preparing the visa application yourselves, using an immigration advisor give no certainty that the visa will be granted. Period.

You both MUST do some research.

The immigration advisor CANNOT create documentary evidence for themselves. They need to ask you and your husband to gather the needed specific documents.

As others have stated YOU will be required to submit an online application and a documents submission at the VFS application centre in Philippines.

There's a lot of things to understand.

Take this step-by-step, don't be shy to ask as many questions as you want.

Some pre-application activities for you to consider achieving is for you meet the English language requirement

Here's the needed detail - Tuberculosis testing in the Philippines

Did your husband get written confirmation that he actually does meet the basic UKBA Visa requirements?
I don't mean that he meets documentary evidence full compliance, but just that he earns enough money, has adequate accomodation, is free to marry, can provide the needed bank statements and employer support etc, can clearly demonstrate a genuine and subsisting relationship/marriage.
Those simple items (plus English Language and TB screening) are the key factors.

£1200 seems a lot of money, but too late now.
At least with some basic knowledge it should be possible to keep up the work on the application. Do not accept a 6-9 month leadtime from the advisors.

Be sure that the advisor your husband has appointed is fully qualified to follow up any appeal appearances at the tribunal should the visa application be refused.
We have many cases where applications made via advisors/agents have been refused and those agents/advisors are not suitably qualified to represent clients at court in any appeal. Just check.

Hello Terpe, I have question regarding my passport because last year of june we go to consultancy agency here to process our documents for applying tourist visa and I got my visit visa within 2 weeks and we purchase my ticket and I put 6 months Uk but the consultancy agent said that 6 months ok. so when I arrived to heathrow the immigration question about my ticket why 6 months because your only a tourist visa and they have interrogation about my ticket and after that they decided to refuse my visa they put REFUSAL OF ENTRY.

The tourist visa is issued for a validity of 6 months as standard.
When you submitted your visit visa application what was the visit duration you requested?
It's not usual to be refused entry at the border as the holder of a valid visa unless they suspected that you had insufficient funds available to you, or that you were not a genuine tourist with adequate tourism intentions but making the visit for undeclared purposes.
In any case it has no impact or bearing on your application for Spouse/Partner visa for settlement.

...and after that one of my friend tell me to change my passport from married to single so i have a passport using my single family...my question is there will be conflict when I planning to marry because I know one of the requirements is your passport...pls help me thank you

If you were previously married do you have full annulment documentation

The requirement for your passport is for ID checking and for entering the approved visa.
Your passport and the marriage certificate will provide the evidence needed.
Many folks here in UK still have passports in their maiden name despite getting married, applying for a visa, travelling to UK and securing employment here.

they asked why im staying for 6 months because on my invitation letter said for 2 weeks only and there's no problem when regards my funds because they are thingking that im gonna work there and they dont believed that im saying and that was my first time to got there.

I'm using my married passport that time but not yet annuld. there's a lot of mistake for that ( one of my friend here just telling me and advice to change my passport to single so when I apply visa again im using my single passport and that time my bf said that we should go to file annulment so i was apply my annulment last august and i get my annulment this coming of june and after that we're to marry on july
