I did an online test like that last week and I got 42 words per minute.

yeah... but I have to keep looking up and down to read the text and it is full of random words that don't fit together like in a normal sentence.

88 words per minute, but made 5 mistakes.... Used to be able to type much better then that. Averaged 90+ with very few errors.
With me being a one finger typist its more how many minutes per word

89 wpm! Though that's at an unsustainable speed - Over the longer term I'd probably average 70-80. That said, these speeds are only achieved when using my American-style laptop keyboard. (i.e. one with a large-size left-hand shift key) - UK-style keyboards with small-size left-hand shift keys really slow me down for capitalising stuff, as my pinky doesn't reach far enough to the left to be able to easily strike it whilst typing!

According to Wiki a professional typist types between 50 and 80 words per minute but some can go as fast as 120.
