Hello guys, I'm in the Philippines with my wife we plan to go to Spain together, we have completed ALL requirements for her schengen visa only problem is that the Spanish consulate want a certificate stating that the marriage is legal/ registered in the UK, so we went to the British embassy and they could not give us a certificate but they did seal a stamp on the signature of the authenticated Philippines marriage certificate, but when we submitted this to the spanish consulate it was still not enough !!!!they want something from the UK stating that the marriage is legal/registered!! but its British law that all marriages outside of the UK are legal as long as they are legal within the country that it took place in.. so we are now left not knowing what on earth to do
yesterday morning we deposited our marriage certificate to the (GRO) general registry office in the UK at the embassy in manila, would that be acceptable once we get in writing from the GRO , we could then order a certified true copy from them?? would that act as seen as legal for the spanish embassy?? please help..
